Ok I have a opinion question for you experts out there. I learned how to do birds from reading a few books and watching a couple of vidoes, and have done about 50 of them ranging from partridge to giant canadians and have had some great results after I done my first couple of them. The few people I have done birds for have brought me more to do and have refured others to me. But now I would like to try my hand at a new challenge. In your opinions how difficult are doing deer and mammals to ding birds? Thanks you guys for the advice and info, taking the time out to help us new guys is greatly appreciated!

Seems like I get to answer you a lot today! Birds are tricky, but deer are easy. The forms are accurate, the supplies are, too. Theres plenty of reference and you dont have to degrease the buggers.

I love doing mammals, especially in lifesize form, from squirrels up through lifesize lion, buffalo, etc.
Birds have always driven me crazy... arranging feathers and all... blllahhh!!!
It really boils down to what you love to work on. If you get lucky like I am, then you can take in only what you enjoy working on.
I have limited myself to mammals only, lifesize and head mounts (pedestals and wall mounts), because my photography and sculpting allows me this "privilege".
In answer to your basic question, mammals are therefore easier to me. Take care... John B.
