As I was making my first attempt to take the cartledge out of the ears of a boar (first attempt on anything), I had trouble getting the very thin skin, inside of the ears, to come off without cutting it. On one part the hole is kinda big. My questions are, first, is it possible to get the cartledge off in this area without cutting it? And, I know that bondo will fill small holes, but will it work on larger ones and how do you cover the bondo, paint? If I missed answers to this kind of question in earlier postings, sorry.

Donna, Since you've already removed the cartilage, I would reccommend using earliners. If you are going to use bono on boar ears, which I do, dont remove the cartilage. Bob c

Donna I`m a beginner myself but have found it a lot easier to turn the ears before I pickle, then come back after the pickle and remove the cartalidge on the inside of the ear. If ya let it dry just a bit you cann peel most of it back with your fingernail...That worked for me on my coons...

Man-o-man, I wish I'd known that I could've left it in there and used bondo, oh well. I'm glad that this is just a practice hog! Once again, the forum came through and taught me something that I couldn't find in the books. Thanks Bob and Travis.
