cleaning fleshing wheel

Submitted by Tom on 2/24/01. ( )

I just received my bird flesher and was wondering how to clean the wheel when I was finished. In past I used a hand brush and tried to clean it the best I could with soap and water but with limited success. My hand brushes would get thrown away because they were rock hard. Thanks in advance.

Burn it off

Tom, an easy way to clean fleshing brushes is to use a propane torch set on low flame and burn the fat out of them, or you could simply put them in a pot of boiling water and cook them off.Good luck.....JL

Now be honest. How many of you have EVER wondered about that? I'm a slop, I guess. I just throw them away and start over till I fill the next one.
