Petroleum products dont degrease, they only chase water from the rinse away, mater for fact they will not remove soap residue. Wheel the skin, wash with EPO-GRIP Bloodout, or Polytranspar skin prep, then wash again and rinse, rinse, rinse, did I say rinse! until the RINSE WATER is CLEAR, oh did I say rinse! Now you are getting the picture, i would hope, now rinse the bird in either gasolin or the expensive stuff coleman, the let it drain for 30 minutes then tumble.
I just put the bird in a bucket run about 1/2 gallon of the cheapest gas I can find, and slosh it around and around, remove the bird asap, throw the gas on the poison ivy vines and let the hide drian, I use a old screen and place the head of the bird up hill for 30 minute. After that tumble.
Now I have used DAWN and Ivory all the store bought stuff, it will work but its hard to rinse out esp, in soft water. I would use, Epo-Grips BLOODOUT, Rittels SUPER SOLVENT, or WASCO'S SKIN PREP for degreasing they do work better than Dawwn or other dish soap.
