I've always heard that peroxide is a good agent to remove blood and other stubborn stains. What is the best application process for this method? Thanks!

Yes it will probably remove blood, however it will remove the color of the hair. If you ever put peroxide on you hair, you would know it turns light higher lighter and dark hair oranger. Trust me, when we put it on our dog to remove a skunk odor (mixed with baking soda or something) it removed quite a bit of the skunk smell, but also left behind and orange headed black lab. I wouldn't recommened the use of Hydrogen peroxide. Depending if you are use anything dark. If you are doing something such as a sheep where the fur is white, you could give it a try.
Peroxide will HELP to remove blood stains, but it won't do it alone. It will bleach hair, but this is the bird section isn't it? I have never seen it have much effect on feathers. First place a dab of your washing detergent directly on the stain. Scrub vigorously with a soft toothbrush. Rinse and repeat until no sign of the blood is left. By this I mean that the feather barbs are free and non-sticky. Sometimes a yellow stain will remain no matter what you do, and this is where peroxide does the trick. Pour it on the damp stain and let it work. 5 minutes should be plenty. Just remember that peroxide won't remove blood. It will only bleach out the little bit that is left after normal cleaning.

Van Dykes sells something called Blood eater, try that
Blood eater works unbelievably well, I just finished a mature snow goose that was frozen with a very large amount of blood under the right wing. I dabbed Blood eater on the crusted area while skinning the bird. After degreasing (by hand cause I'm poor)( or stupid) I wash my birds in Dawn dishsoap, then soak in Rittel's Super Solvent, after soaking any remaining blood was removed by pouring Blood Eater directly on the spot massaging it into the feather and rinsing in cold water. Never had a speck of blood nor a yellowish stain left in the bird. lol
Get some Coastal Power Cleaner from Auto-Zone and try it on one bird, deer ,bear, hog,or any thing and you will never use anything else. Removes blood like nothing I've ever seen and also grease and oil. Cleans so good the mounts squeek.
