Turkey head-post paint

Submitted by CHUCK on 7/26/01. ( Chuckcnctaxi@aol.com )

I have just finished painting a freezedried turkey head. Should I seal the paint with something like a matte topcoat ,also thinking about future humidity fluctuations and unforseen insects. Thanks

Hello Chuck,
You should have sealed the head BEFORE you painted it.This provides a nice base for the paints to stick to.If you dont, down the road you may see a few little places where the paint has flaked off.
If you look closely to a real live turkey, there heads are not glossie at all. Sort of like human skin. So, if you were to use anything, I would recoment that it be a very flat coat.

I hope this will help you with your next project.

Have a good day,

Thanks Dave

I did seal it before hand ,just wondering if post paint sealer /top coat was necessary. No other posts necessary
