how to send frozen pheasent

I am in need of info in packing and shipping a pheasent that ia frozen hole to a person. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks Bob

Dry ice..

Pack the bird in a styrofoam cooler with dry ice and send it FedEx overnight. That's the best way to ensure that it arrives still frozen or nearly so. The Dry ice is more for insurance against thawing if the package gets lost, but I've had great results using fedEx. Oh, and you can bend the tail a bit to save room -- just make sure you pack it securely so it doesn't move around or you'l risk breaking feathers. The tail can be easily straightened once it arrives by running it under hot water.

Slide the bird down a panty hose head first to protect the feathers.
