hi my name is mike and i have finished my first 3 ducks in the sitting position. they have all turned out rather well. but my question is what is the best method for mounting a flying duck. i want that to be my next test in taxidermy since i love ducks and that is all im planning on mounting at the moment. thanks for the help.

What is the best technique? This is as varied as the taxidermist doing the bird.
This is why you need the WASCO bird manual. it is everything a beginner needs to know with pictures too. Remove all the meat, some prefur to leave the primary feather attached to the wing bone, some dont, some artifical heads and some dont. I feel a beginner should use the real head, it is more difficult to do and once mastered, you never have to worry about not having a head in stock. a lit coat of MOD-PODGE will repair all shrinkage.
