Could I get some name brands of degreasers that are available to wash waterfowl skins? I currently use dawn with no mineral spirits or gas as a final rinse. ( I don't like the hazzards involved or the smell it leaves in my freezer ) I used to use it and had good results but would like to try to do with out if possible. From what I was told that the gas/ms was just used to displace the water and had little to do with the degreasing. Knoblochs Kemal-4 ad says it is 10x stronger than dish soaps yet most of what I hear use Dawn. What do most of you use and what are your methods. Many respondses please.....

Epo-Grip Blood-out/Degreaser, Van Dykes Eliminator, and Bruce Rittel sells a good product though I don't have the name off hand.
I ordered some "Eliminator" from Van Dykes, but they replaced it now with Cactus Jacks "Duz-All". I like it alot. Just mix with water and let it soak. No stink or storage problems.
try this product I switched from coleman fuel to 360 almost two years ago.Have had great results and it is not flammable. It is product of Authentic taxidermy supply in tenn. Also sold by lonestar taxidermy supply in Texas, city Tx.
The epogrip George (who knows birds very well) mentioned has been recommended by several taxidermist and it also is nonflammable, just read all instructions before using I understand this product (epogrip) has to be washed out of the bird you might check on if you are wanting something to displace moisture because it has to be washed out ,or thats what I understand. It will degrease the bird .
You just have to try the products and find what works for you.
