Very Easy

As you may already know, everyone has a different way of doing things (especially when it comes to taxidermy). I'm not saying that my way is the best, but I find it easy. First, I take the defrosted bird and hold it by one foot, to see how a dead bird naturally hangs. When the bird is ready to attach to the wood, I take the thickest wire I have and nail the bird to the board. You can nail it between the wings and toward the tail, or just between the wings. It depends on if the bird feels secure. Of course I will pull the bird out slightly to conceal the wire. I only use wire in the leg that the leather strap is attached (assuming that you are doing a dead mount that hangs from a strap and is belly to the board). The eyelids should be half closed. I hold the wings in place by putting a wire through the elbow joint and into the body (of course pulling the wing out to conceal the wire). You may not need the wire through the wing if it naturally hangs in the position you like.

There are other poses of a dead mount that may require wires in other places.

Good luck and I hope this helps. If you need anymore explaination on this give me an email.
