will work great.. just make sure it not blowing any heat out...
what i did on mind was to take all but u rib out of it think it not bet birds up as bad. then i use a big gunny sack fill it about half full of corn cobb grit(fine) but bird in it for about 20 mins.. it good & try ... dont but bird into tumbler with the tail on them... cut that off... i place ducks into a large coffee can full of grit then but in thr dryer... this way it keep all the corn cob off of floor better.. it will find its way out.. been using mind for about 8ys now...one last thing.. make sure birds no real wet when u put them in.. let then drip try some tumble then i refreze them till i ready to mount.. then take shop vac. stary blowing them.. it unfrezzing them & drying them out at the samt time.. should take about 45 mins to do this part.. then it on to the mounting of it...
If you think a clothes dryer (converted or not) produces a "great" product, you should see what the REAL THING will do.
I used bondo to seal up the vent holes-works great. No realneed for the sack then- though the tumbling medium still sifts out around the door, even tough I make a slight alteration there. A GAS drier will work better. Heres why. Elec drier requires special pug/outlet.Gas drier is sandard 110 outlet setup. Plus, with the gas not hooked up, no chance of heat blowing on the bird.
I took the paddles out, but the whole thing wouldn't tumble then. The drum ran and the dust just sat there after the drum got polished. So- I put in 1 by 2 strips to make the thing tumble.
One other tip. I use a combo shop-vac hairdrier blower to dry birds further. The vac tube is taped to the hair drier like an over under shotgun. the combo of low heat and high volume cool air does a great job w/o "cooking" the bird.
thanks for the info . just wasn't clear on tail feathers . I'AM supposed to cut fan off tumble seperate and sew back on .
