The directions on the bottle say at least two hours, does anyone have any experience leaving one in, say 24 hours. I ask this because I usually skin ducks one evening after work (and mount it the next evening. I was thinking that it shouldn't hurt it (maybe I should leave it soaking in the liqua-cure in the "frig"). One last question....the directions say to rinse in cold water after the liqua-cure, would it be acceptable to do another complete wash job on the skin after the liqua-cure?
Any help would be appreciated.

Most of us wouldn't leave it in that stuff for 24 seconds, much less 24 hours. In my opinion, it's waste of time and money.
I often leave birds soaking in liqa-cure overnight and even longer. I have never had a problem with it. I think the stuff is great. I get very little shrinkage and it seems to make the skin a little stronger. I do sometimes wash the birds another time if they look like they might need it, I have suffered no ill effects from this either. I do use a slight dusting of borax to help when I am drying the bird. If this stuff is a waste of time, its the best one I have found.
DLS,
you'll find out if you read these forums long enough that george knows everything,if you do anything differently than him you are wrong, and that his standard reply to questions is"look in the archives".
Yeah i use liqua cure on some of my birds too. I don't leave them in for as long as you are talking about so I don't know what effect that would have on the skin. Yeah I guess according to george I'm stupid for using a "money wasting" product. Then again go look up some of his bird work and then ask yourself "is this guy an expert on birds?". Decide for yourself.
How is it the ones will all the brass seldom have balls enough to post a real name and THEIR website. Ole BB brain is right, however, my birds aren't the best, but you CAN look at them. That website is over 3 years old however and because of conflicts between Microsoft and AOL the only way I'll be able to update the site is to leave AOL (My programer died and only he had a key to the site which neither of those company will grant me access to. If you have a programmer, make sure you keep access to your site.) That's why I have my birds contracted out now. But I'll bet Mr. I Use Liqua-Tan ain't the guy I'm paying. LOL
