Leave turkey attached or not?

Submitted by Terri on 4/22/02. ( thaken@chartermi.net ) 66.188.52.180

I watched Joe Ferebee's video last night on a strutting turkey. I think I would prefer to keep the original feet on the bird. I would than leave the skin attached to the lower leg correct?

I have mounted ducks and pheasant before but never a turkey. I alwaysed left the birds feet and wing bones attached. Do you do turkeys the some way?

Thanks for any help, tips, points.

Terri

keep them attached and do them the same as other birds. i like to clean the marrow out after tumbling so the sharp edge of the bone won't tear the skin. then pack them with borax.

UUUUmmm, Maybe

Maybe you should wait and read the spring issue of Breakthrough first. With a strutting turkey, running the bigger rods down through the legs can be touch when left attached.

Just got the spring issue
