Red Stains on Snow Goose Heads

Submitted by TORK on 07/13/2002. ( ) 207.2.73.146

I have heard about some kind of bleach or peroxide pastes you can spread onto the heads of snow geese to cover up the reddish stains and whiten the heads. It is then brushed out after it has dried and set for a while. Does anyone know how to make anything like this. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Rittels Blood Eater! It will do wonders on white waterfowl feathers! Whether it's rusty mud stain or good old fashion blood! Give it a try, you'll like it. Bleaching or peroxide has the potential to damage the feathers.

Hope this helps!

George is right , it's been covered several times, check out the archives for more ideas!

Get yourself some oxy-clean. Wal mart caries it and it works wonders. I sprinkle it on while I am washing the bird with Dawn. Just sprinkle the powder on, rub it in gently and let it soak for 10 - 15 minutes.

Ps. It works great on blood!
