Well ive got a greenhead out thawing now and i im going to mount him backpeddleing with the underside of the wing show, but anyways i want to support him how Todd Huffman suports most of his waterfowl.
I'm wanting to run a wire all the way through his foot and run that into the driftwood totally hiding the wire that way. I love that look it gives them. I plan on disguising the part of the wiring showing (which isnt really too noticible) with some repro moss. But my question is what size wire should i use. the only thing i have tonight is 14 and 16 and 8 gauge on me. I'm afraid that the 14 is too small and the 8 is way too big. I'm sure plenty of you have seen Todds work and if you guys know what im talking about i would like to know if you could recomend a wire size for me to use.

Nope it aint to big. I have done several that way. You just need a very sharp cutting point on the wire (lika a fish hook)
Go very slow and feel the wire through, the 8 will go I have even ran it through Pintail, teal and Woodies.
I grind the cutting point then polish it with a cardboard wheel and rouge, This will let it slide rather than tear its way through.
