specializing in Turkeys - profitable?

I do mostly birds, and a few gameheads here and there. I love working on turkeys and I am pleased with the wonderful end product. I have considered doing nothing but turkeys - specializing. I have 2 questions. 1. Is it a profitable venturew to specialize in these big birds, and 2. How do I attract clients to get enough birds.

You produce quality work. I average 40 to 50 turkey a year, but that is all I do.
The best way to attract clients is display your work in local sportsmans stores. Warning though
that the mounts get messed up after a while because of people with sticky hands. If your work is good
you should not have any problems getting all the turkey you want. I get $425 a bird and have been doing
them for six years now. Give it a whirl, See and God Bless

Many people do just that.

To do that your work has to better than others in your area. For the Sports shows, just put the mounts back where they cannot be handled. A couple or three standing mounts on seperate turntables. and of course you standing at the front of the booth as a blocker.

I never let people in the booth, use a table to help you as a barrier.

It s going to take a while to build your client base.
Good luck.
