I just got introduced into taxidermy close to 2 years ago. I walked back in the woods with my shot gun, and saw some woodies on the swamp they all jumped up and i killed one drake. It was my first woody drake ever. I ran it up to my dads house and asked him if i could get it mounted. Then he gave me the idea of mounting it myself. So i did it i will admit it didnt turn out the best but it taught me and i learned a lot since then. I've been looking at the WTC thing now and i do live in Illinois. I'm just about 1 hour and 30 from springfield. And i wondered is the WTC held in Springfield all the time? Is it an Annual or Biannual thing? And when you enter stuff is there a fee paid? I dont really know cuz it will be my first time. I want to go up there to ask the judges what my strong points and weak points are and i also wanna check out all of those seminars. So anyone familiar with the event with any info would be great. I checked there website and i couldnt find anything to answer these questions.
