i have just been through the archives and found reading about caulking extreming interesting, and i also saw mention to a guy using silicone, instead,i am in australia, and i somtimes have to work out what it is you guys use,i mean you have different names to what we use for eg it had me baffled for awhile what denatured alcohol was, over here it is called methelated spirits,so my question is what is caulk,is it like powdered stuff that you write on blackboards with(chalk) or i think it is like a gap filler we get here,do you buy it from the hardware store in a tube?as with the silicone is that the stuff used to glue glass in aquariums?i would greatly appreciate some help.

It is a gap filler that you get at hardware in tubes. As for the silicone, it can be a silicone caulk also. You are on the money
Caulk is usually white but also available in colors such as almond, brpwn, etc. It's used primarily as a bathtub, sink, etc. sealer. Definitely at the hardware in tubs. You can also do an Internet search for DAP caulk and you may find a website with more info, samples, etc. for clarity. Best wishes and G'Day Mate. Sorry. Had to do it.
