I was wondering if anyone had experience with this tool and how it well it works on different types of Waterfowl.
Thanks,

Birdbrain,
The feather curler tool, is a pretty usefull tool when it comes to putting life into your mounts with curling primary feathers on waterfowl and upland birds. I've been working with mine since htey came out. I have found best results when 1. I sanded the sharper edges of the tool to be more rounded 2. I sanded the surface which will actually grip the feather. 3. Not to over do it. You can do some damage to the shaft of the primary or other feathers that you are working with. However you can get some great looking curved feather with the tool. I suggest practicing on some wings off of birds that you aren't going to mount and see what you can get done with it. The tool works best if you are able to roll your wrist as you slide the tool down the shaft of the feather. Hope this helps.

Dan,
I don't think anyone could have given me any better info about the curling tool than what you have done (except maybe Danny). <Grin>
I'll be ordering one next week. Thanks again!
