I have a couple pheasant in my freezer my uncle gave me. It's all ready to be cooked except the feet are still attached. I had this "brilliant" idea of saving the feet but I don't know how to preserve them. I would prefer drying them but I don't know how to go about this. Any ideas on what I can do?

If you have enough room you can freeze-dry them yourself. Pose them as you wish and freeze them unwrapped for several months. They will completely dry out (ie: extreme freezer burn) and you can then put them anywhere. If you want them out of the freezer right away it is more complicated. You can try just posing them and setting them aside but there is a good chance they will get stinky. The alternatives are to inject them with preservative (which you will have to purchase) or to split the bottoms of the toes, pull out the leg tendons, and rub in 20 Mule Team borax on all exposed meat and flesh.
