If you are going to do taxidermy, you really need to spend some money on reference instead of being LAZY and asking us for all of your reference material. You need to buy The Breakthrough Waterfowl & Bird Finishing Manual; $22.15 US @ McKenzie. WAKE UP !
your work would ultimately be of a higher quality if you designed your own paint schedule as described by RICK CARTER'S article beggining on page 50 of Breakthrough edition #69.....after reading that article and experimenting it opened up a whole new door for my finish work
good luck

Just for you own I did not ask for anyone to give me crap about this. I have mounted many birds just never have done any black ducks and was curious as to how many different color schemes there may be for the black ducks. I have yet to see two pictures of them look alike. SO as far as wake up I am plenty awake and if you cant help me keep your comments to yorself. I thought this was a help board but I see that it is more a go find it yourself board.
Cozmo, I would suggest you just look at reference of the black duck and go from there. If you did a mallard, then you did a black duck. You really answered your own question when you said that no two pictures look the same. Paint the bill and feet the way they looked when you were given the duck. People on here are not being nasty they are just tired of people figuring that it is easier to ask than it is to do the footwork and find the answer. It is always easier to ask than it is to look first. Any good bird taxidermist has reference and I (along with the others) prefer Breakthroughs bird manual. If you come here looking for advice, take it when it is given. good day.
