Northern Shovelers...HELP!

Submitted by Kevin on 03/12/2003. ( ) 67.250.151.162

I am just starting out & have only mounted two ducks so far, both flying Mallards. My next practice project is a pair of standing Shovelers. What size (diameter) foam neck material do Shovelers use and how do I wire the legs to provide support for standing? Also, what size wire? Thanks

Would be a good start here, for if you had any would would really find this is a basic question and the answers are there.
But to help out here, measure the neck with a pair of calipers and see what the thickness is. Just replace what you took out, that is lenght and width.
I use 12 qauge copper wire which is plenty flexable and has little or no memory. Also for the feet use 12 or some may use 10 gauge steel wire for this.

Whatever

one that fits the tightest in there is what I usually use. Then I use a 1/4" piece for the trach. Good Luck
