Thank you ahead of time.
Only done a few birds. None of the molds look like the real bodies. even the big name molds just simply look crappy. When did bird grow shoulders? My stuffed ducks look like football players wearing shoulder pads. This i cannot see in live flying ducks. I pull the skin forward and it helps, will caulking stop this? What is the very best way to caulk my ducks? I have tried the high dollar cleaners and found dawn to work the best. Did the mineral spirits versed water only. Mineral Spirits work best. Made my tumbler with a two by four wood frame washing machine motor and bike chains and gears. Dad got me a small two horsepower craftsman shop vac, for christmas its my bird blower. So how do I caulk the birds and how do you get the caulk in all the small places?

Alter The Form

No matter what bodies you use, the form needs to be changed. Some need it more than others. The molds need to be made this way or they would never get a body out of a mold. If you know what the body is supposed to look like, it will be simple to change it.

Now about caulking

The caulk is the material that transitions everything. This means it helps smooth the area between, 1. head & neck, 2. base of neck & body 3. wings & body. 4. legs & body, 5. Tail & body. 6. It helps smooth the transitions from one feather group and the next also. Suprizingly, very little is needed in the head, If the head anatomy is correct. It is applied with tubes and syringes.
