Has anyone had problems oredering through internet with Van Dykes, is this a bad option/ I ordered and received an Email confirmation of my order and a week later called and they had no record of it. Just wondering if this not a good future option.

Personally, Im still happy with talking to someone on the phone. The email route is nice for getting fwd)FWDs from Mom, but ordering supplies? I still wanna hear a girl read it back to me. I hear a comment about VD and others here and there, but dont know of it being chronic...
My orders are usually a small amount of supplies at one time and i dont need my supplies yesterday so it just makes more sence for me to use a written order form. I guess I feel more comfortable doing it that way, and I have never had a problem that way. I dont even use a credit card. I hate credit cards. My taxidermy business is completely run out of a check book that i have specifically for the business, and its just easier for me to keep track of my transactions. I dont trust the net when it comes to credit cards and i dont like to need to keep track of a credit card, although I do have two, but hardly ever use them. Have you ever had you internet provider shuts you down in the middle of an order? It sucks if its a large order. I mail in my order, and it realy only takes a couple more days to get my supplies, and I have a better record at my fingertips. I have found that if a catalog doesnt have order forms in it you can request them from the supplier. I personally like to deal with WASCO. If I underpay because of the shipping charges they send me my supplies with an invoice which tells me what i need to add to my next order. If I overpay they credit me. Now thats the way I like to do business. I have done phone orders in the past, but I just feel better with a mail order form.
Tom,
Give Van Dyke's a call. I've never had a problem ever with them. Like most of the response's say, I'd rather hear the girls voice on the phone, and have her confirm the order.

I also do most of my orders by phone, however I have placed internet orders with both Van Dykes and WASCO without problems. The only time I had a problem w/ Van Dykes was when I ordered late at night. Some guy took my order and it never got entered in the system. I called to check on it about two weeks later and they had no record of it. They have a 24 hour service but that broke me from doing business with the night shift.
My only concern with the internet orders (both companies) was that I didn't feel like I got enough confirmation that everything went through. I like to get an E-mail confirmation when I order. Most companies send an E-mail to confirm that they received the order and give you a confirmation number. Both companies left me wondering, until the merchandise arrived.
i just had my check card and credit numbers stole by useing the internet to order from WASCO.even though they have a secure site that doesn't mean the hackers can't get to you.my bank luckily caught them right off the bat and put a stop to it.for the last three weeks i have been useing cash and checks.i'm still waiting for my pin numbers to come.i got real lucky.please be carefull. i called WASCO and they said they have never had any problems and they were real helpful in answering my question's
WASCO is not a secure web ordering site!
