curious what the laws are reguarding old hawk and owl foot

Curious what the laws are reguarding possessing a hawk and owl foot that is quite old? I have seen pieces on ebay for sale such as a hawk foot necklace and an owl foot that went to completion on the auction and not cancelled. Since ebay is allowing the sale of them, I presume they are legal, correct? No way of knowing what species of hawk and owl foot they are, would that make the difference?

It ain't happening. Even then, you have to have proof of heritage. Otherwise, ownership is limited to educational and museum organizations for public display or research.

It does not surprise me at all that ebay allowed the sale of some of these illegal bird parts. They are ignorant of the law-as most people are.
I have seen many illegal sales on ebay. A couple of years ago-they were allowing the sale of mounted crows. They were selling for a LOT of money. I emailed ebay several times and they argued with me said that there was nothing illegal about it. They were quite rude about this-I was very angry, because I knew I was right.
I ended up having to contact the Feds and within a day or so all of these auctions were stopped.

crows are illegal?

Why are crows illegal to mount? I know Ebay requires all birds sold there to be pen raised but didn't think that crows were illegal to mount..?
