I purchased a aztex A470 airbrush and can't seem to get the detailed work down. I new with the airbrush but I need to learn. I tried painting an artificial wood duck head and could not get clean lines. can anyone help? Is there a better airbrush that does fine detail work? help ?

Joey you can get as fine as a pencil line if you want with the Aztec. Before youcan do this you need to learn on how to use it along with thinning paints down. Picking up any air brush no matter what the quality is doesn't mean you will become a master at it all at once.
To start with use the tan tip (it's what I like), thin your paint with, water, alchol, and retarder. You may have to go 50-50 to thin it down as some paints are to heavy for detail work. Take a pratice sheet and learn on how to set the roller so that when you press down on the trigger you get a fine dot. From there start making lines and dots till you really get the hang of it. From time to time paint will build up on your tip. That's normal with any water base paints. All i do is take a tooth brush dipped in water and just clean of the tip and give it a quick spray and start again. You'll have to do this often so don't fret over it.
OK... I practiced for 4 hours last night, and it helped alot. I guess I wasn't adjusting the flow correctly, I got my detail to a fine line. Also rubbing alchol thins water based awesome. I finished the bill and it looks great. thanks again.
