Hey guys
I'm about to do a golden eye drake. So i went and orderes some for Van Dykes, i even looked on the chart for the color and size. it said 11mm yellow, so that is what i bought. But my taxidermy teacher from school gave me either 8 or 9 mm eyes for it. Then i looked in a different mag. and it said 10mm. Guys what do i do?
I need a list please. I'm so confused!

Rusty;
Measure the real eyes on the duck, and see what it is. That way you'll Know exactly what size to use.
Coyote
Coyote-your a genius. Great advice. People often have questions about bird eye sizes, different catalogs with different sizes, what to order etc....
Measuring the eyes on your specimin seems such an obvious thing to do-I wonder why so many people overlook this? Hamide.
Personally, that is exactly what I do.....measure the actual eye from the skinned head. Never considered it rocket science, just good, common sense. The gripe I have with Van Dyke's is that some of the colors are incorrect, as well as some sizes, though most are probably accurate. The one that really gets me, is their listing of 10 mm red eyes for coots. Puulleeeze! Coots have a 7 mm eye. Even 6 or 8 will do, on either side, but NOT a 10!
