Need a Woodcock

I am looking for a woodcock I just did my first one for a customer and it did not turn out good at all. The feathers on the back turned as it dryed. I did try to rehydrate it but that did not work. all I have to trade for one are some pheasants, that is all I have.
Thanks Rich.w.

Woodcocks are considered to be migratory birds, so you can't trade for them or buy them. They are not commonly available as free give aways either, although you MIGHT get lucky.
Your best bet is to fix the one you have.

he-he

I would have practiced on one before taking in a customer's bird if I had never mounted one before. But that's just me.

Did the customer know that this was going to be the guinea pig for your first woodcock attempt?

yes he did

He did know it was the first one I was going to do, The point is that it is still a customers bird that needs to be done right so he can hang it to be viewed whether it is my first bird or my 100th bird. Things happed that we can not control. Thank for your responses. Rich
