I have a home made wire wheel I have been using and want to upgrade. what type do you use. Dave Luke was talking about one at the world show, but I dont remember what it was. He also talked about a stainless wheel. I have also read about people doubling up the wirw wheels

Its a bit pricey but a very smooth wheel, you do have to break it in and trim the stray wires.
It is a lot easier and cheaper to build your own. You will need a 1/10th horse power motor - 1350 rpm. It'll come with the proper shaft. Then just buy the brushes from one of the supply houses. The problem with buying a commercial one is that the box is NEVER big enough. They are fine for ducks and small geese, etc.,..., but try to do a turkey or greater canadian and good luck with that wrestling match ! I know, I bought the one from McKenzie that they advertise as the "large" bird flesher. You cannot comfortably do a large bird in it.

Thats what makes the difference.
6" fine ..Is the best and dang cheap under $6...The larger wheel allows you to see better at whats actually being done..
