Epo-Grip Bloodout/Degreaser

I have a few questions about this product. I started out using this per info from other posts I've seen on this site.(4oz. to gal soaking for 15-20 minutes. It seems to do the job well, but I've noticed on a mallard and scaup, they had white areas around the face kind of like a gray beard. Is this to much solution or leaving it in too long? Also does it matter when you do this step? I've been washing then using the Epo-Grip after my final wash before it goes in the tumbler. I use Dawn for my other washes. I don't recall having this happen before using this. Thanks

Sounds like a queer duck to me.

Bloodout/Degreaser is simply a strong soap that removes the oils. I've used it since its inception and never had anything like this. There are no bleaches in the product; just soap. If anything, the soap would turn the white feathers yellow from what we called "flash burn" if allowed to set in the soap solution without being properly rinsed. Dawn is a soap also, albeit a milder one, but it too needs to be washed out when degreasing is done. I suspect your problem is really with that particular duck and not the soap.
