The perfect peice of driftwood for ducks?

I have two customers this year that want their ducks hanging on the wall, standing. So as in probabably like a branch sticking out. Can a guy buy special driftwood (preferably cedar) for this. If so where? I looked through my assortment and don't have much to that L shaped nature.

...of Texas Cedar sounds like what you're looking for. I believe Research Mannikin sells them...

Pete,
Heres an idea I've used before and it looks great: mount the ducks like you would as if standing on a table top piece of driftwood and then screw the drift wood onto a nice looking wall shield. You may have to shave the driftwood with a bandsaw on the side attaching to the shield but they hang on the wall nice. of course try to use the smallest piece of driftwood possible. Good luck

Mike

Mikes idea is the best for me.

I do what Mike Schuda does, and the customer loves it. Let me guess, your customer has a cat or a dog? There must be some kind of repellent you can use to keep the pets from messing with those mounts on the coffee table.

Not sure about one of the customers

but the other one has a kid that pulled the tail clean off a wooduck he had mounted. Got to love kids. Cant wait till mine are old enough to skive deer capes!
