worth mounting?

I'm from Ontario and last week we had a severe cold snap. On Saturday I was trekking through my back woods and came across a frozen Cooper's hawk on the snow. (very recent - no snow on top).

I took it to the Ministry of Natural Resources and had the biologist inspect and give me approval for mounting. (originally my intent was just to let someone look at it for population history etc.)

My question is that it is an immature and is it worth the effort and cost to pursue. How do I judge a taxidermist as suitably qualified to warrant the expense. I am an avid bird watcher and count hawk's as one of my favourites. I'm not simply doing this on a whim but feel like someone dropped (sorry about the pun) a gift on my doorstep

Go for it as you love birds and the odds are against finding another.Good taxidermy lasts a long time as there are mounts done that are still in good shape from the 1800s.You also are lucky as this website has the best people on here to guide you.Im sure once the bird taxidermists see your post they will let you know who can do the mounting for you.Consider it a once in a lifetime find.Good luck
