Ok all you Avian Gurus, Which is it and is there even a difference? From what I can research there is no difference.

Is it Eurasian Widgeon or European Widgeon?

Common names and their sientific names...

Common names vary. In parts of Europe for example - they arent called that at all.. they are called "Common Wigeon", just like European starlings only have the European part here in North America.

Did you know that over 100 countries all have "Iron Wood" trees and not one of them are the same specie? This is where scientific names come into play as each living thing is given one name.

The scientific name for "Common wigeon/european wigeon/eurasian wigen" is "Anas penelope".
