hanging standing bird mount

what is the best way to mount a standing bird on a hanging piece of wood with out no wirers showing out the bottom of the wood. when doing them on a piece of wood that will be sitting on a shelf or etc i run the wirers throught the wood and twist them tight. be that would show if it was hanging on the wall and help would be great.

dry wall screw

Drill your holes through the piece of wood you intend to use for a base and run your wires through them. Your holes should be as close to the same diameter as your sopport wires as possible. Cut them off flush with your wood and run a drywall screw in in the same hole as your wire exited. The screw should countersink itself. apply a thin layer of apoxie sculpt over the screw head,texture it and paint it to match the base you are using. You can even glue a piece of bark over the screws if it will look natural. Hope this helps.

I just drill a hole about the same diameter as the wire, almost through, but not quite, fill it with a good 2 part epoxie, then force the wires in. It will hold quite well.
