Has anyone ever had the outer shell of the upper beak come off? I never realized that they had an outer shell until I accidently pulled one off last night. This is really strange, its like a toe nail, and its a cup like shell that fits over the inner beak. I have mounted countless pheasants and have never seen this. It almost looks like it could be shed from time to time. Thank god its easy to glue back on.
