Liqua Cure

Is it necessary to use liqua cure on pheasants and ducks or is borax sufficient. just getting started and want to do it right.

It makes life easier

The liqua cure will make the skin easier to work with, and extends the amount of time you have to set the skin. Sewing is easier, and positioning the feathers naturally is also not as hard. When I was a kid I started out using the method you described. If I didn't get EVERY scrap of grease off the skin, it would seep goo. Not good.
