Anyone wash their bird skins in denatured alcohol?

What for?

I will sometimes use it to immerse small birds in prior to skinning them because I believe it helps (slightly) to set the feathers on iffy specimens. It also keeps the feathers out of the way while you work if you move fast enough and/or re-apply it occasionally.
Otherwise, I don't see much use for it. It won't remove blood or oil stains at all so it's useless as a wash.

I Use It.....

....As my last wash, just to displace the water and toughen the skins on very thin skinned birds, like wood ducks and ruffed grouse. They only go int it for a quick rinse(under 5 min.) and then on the the tumbler. When I finish with it I can add it to the fish skins, try that with white gas.
