Do these need to be sealed in anyway before painting... Or after painting for that matter?

Thanks
Jon

i seal them. Only an opinion but the more paint you can put on one the better the bug proofing;frez drying does not mean the bugs will not eat then, hell all the meats still in there.

That's kinda what I was thinking

I had never really given it much thought until this afternoon when I was painting one and then started to think about it. What keeps the bugs from eating it? I usually shoot with a coat of matte finish poly afterwards... don't know why I do.. I think becuase I always do my duck bills with it.... so I just automatically did these heads as well.. you think that will work?

Yes, before and after

I first seal with a fungicidal sealer, then paint, then seal with two coats of Krylon TW11 Matte Finish.

i shoot mine with matte finish laquer. the only problem is... that fine mist from the aresol can tends to cling to those little hair like feathers on the head and make it look like it has a little white afro. i then go over those with a mascara brush to at least make them black again. but they are really too obvious in my opinion. as usual, clients dont know the difference
