I have mounted a few wood ducks, around the eyes the feathers or thin and the black feathers seem to roll back and turn white. How do the professionals deal with this problem?

you aren't tucking the bottom eyelid into it's natural position. You should be able to push it down and pull the cheek feathers up to the bottom of the eye.
