refrigerating ducks

When I thaw out a duck how long can I safely keep the whole duck in the refridgerator? Thanfs in advance for any responces. This site is a huge help to us rookies!

push it past three days... after that you're asking for trouble with slippage.


24 hrs may be too long

Thawed a woodie once in 'fridge...24 hours later there was slippage around edge of bill. It depends how it was frozen to begin with. The head thaws first in most cases.

Always if in doubt toss it back in the freezer.I have done this to birds up to 5 times..Aint sure why others have problem with doing this..There is also another trick turn the fridge way down.,Keeping it a a cumfy 40ish is a crock 33 is were to be ,I like my beer chilled dont'know bout the rest of ya'll.I dont let my birds sit in there forever..You should always have a back up if a day goes off kilter but never let birds sit too long..Green is not a good option.
Hummmmmm cold beer cold duck, beer can stay in there for a lot longer I would'nt keep my ducks chilled to long the enzymes will get ya even at 33
