Drying A turkey

getting ready to mount 1st turkey. Everything is ready and it has been washed and rinsed well.

I saw mention of using compressed air to dry the feathers. This seems a bit rough to me, what pressure do you recommend? Also, approximately how long will it take?

Thanks,
John

john, compressed air and a hair dryer on warm, have you tumbled the bird or is it still kind of wet. if you detached the tail i would tumble it in corn cobb grit if not wrap her in a towel and put it in your washing machine and put the machine on spin cycle it will remove a tom of water and will help you get the bird dryer faster if you are only using a dryer and air. good luck.

So compressed air sounds ruff?

If that sounds ruff, you should see me wire wheel a turkey in 20 minutes. I do it outside with a bench ginder then wash the turkey in a washing machine.

Turkey are tuff! You will find the more work you do the ruffer it looks and sound that you are handling them, when in fact you handle them easier and faster with experience.

Air compressor with a long tube on the blow gun, will allow you to dry the down.

Now get this and understand it, cause it does not need any explaining.
(DRY DOWN WILL DO THE MOST FOR YOUR BIRD APPEARING FLUFFY, NO DEAD)
