Hey guys, I finished a woddie a few weeks back and all the feathers have a wet look to them. Not smooth like the other ducks. I defated and washed 3 times using dawn, then tumbled in borax and partly dried. Any ideas on what made it dry looking wet still?

Just washing dont cut it. You have to rinse, rinse, rinse.
Wash it three or four time, wash unti the water is clear, then rinse until the water is clear.
It may take 40 gallons of water to get all the soap out.
Then after its dripped dry, use acetone and wash the bird again. this time as it dries fluff with a air hose.
Oh make sure the airhose has a water/oil trap on it.
If its only on the back its oil and prolly not cleaned right...Thats one of the many reasons for my new 6hp shop van couple minutes and my wet duck skin is dry and no Chance for oil transfer...
