Sea Ducks

I recently shot some Sea Ducks on the Puget Sound. I'm looking for some quality artificial heads with preset eyes for a Harlequin, Oldsquaws, Surf Scoters, Whitewinged Scoters and Barrows Goldeneyes. Any suggestions on where to purchase them?

Most of the taxidermy suppliers carry artificial heads. There are slight differences in all of them, both in quality and size. I can recommend any of the heads made by Robert Holhouser out of Eagle River Alaska, Joe Ferbee, with McKensie, Newmeyer with WASCO and Salvedes with Research Mankins. Corey Caruthers also does a fine job. The product is in the eyes of the beholder - for me it is detail - Holhouser and Ferbee are on the top of my list, but they are all degrees of good. Of course there is always the option to make your own - many do and it is a lot cheaper. Keep in mind that no artificial head will be a perfect match and may well require some extra work on your part. Good Luck
