Can anyone suggest how I would go about buying a mounted bird for my husband? I guess you can't buy something like an owl, but maybe a pheasant of some type. I live in Richmond VA. Does anyone know of a website or contact?

Your local phone book has a listing for Taxidermists. Start calling. You can actually go and look at what you might buy. No shipping involved. And most important, the local taxidermist will be familiar with your state laws concerning the sale of wildlife in your state.
i have a pen raised drake mallard, a pheasant standing and one flying and a couple of quail for sale.
