I'm sure this isn't new news, but thought any new people on the forum should be warned about a taxidermy/waterfowl breeder CAREER criminal. He is selling pen raised waterfowl for a premium price, but when you get them, they are CRAP. They appear nice on the outside, but are full of pin feathers, broken or missing feathers all together...I have worked with some bad skins before, but these are USELESS, and of course, if Dan owe's you anything, then you will never be able to reach him. I paid good money for a half dozen skins and NONE of them were useable, and he won't return any of my emails or phone calls. I know dozens of people that he owe's money, and same story...he won't contact him. He's a crook and a coward. IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY, BE WARNED, HE'LL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU !

I've dealt with Dan on many occasions and have a freezer full of his birds as we speak... Never once have a I recieved a poor bird. I did kinda throw a hissy once cause he sent me preskinned birds... but he does a suitable job skinning and the skin was still useable.. so I couldn't complain on the shipping cost. He has often shipped me birds before I ever even sent him money. I usually buy a years worth of captive birds to supplement summer time blues, and he even lets me pay them out.
I know he is a difficult person to contact, but it can be done and he's always been the utmost of helpful towards me.
I know there are two sides to every coin, but I sincerely hope that you've just had a misunderstanding or just a tinge of bad luck. I would hate to think of Dan in this way. Give him a chance to make things right and I'm sure he'll come through.

I have also bought many birds from Dan.And I've been very satisfied with the quality of his birds and I've never been cheated once.He can be a little hard to get a hold of sometimes yes but I've always been able to talk to him.Dan's a helpful guy with great birds and I'll keep doing business with him.Sometimes there are people you just can't satisfy no matter how hard you try.
I bought a drake pintail off Dan and It arrived fast and it was a super bird! I think he's a good guy to deal with.
my reasons for staying anonomous are my own and I need not justify them to anyone. I was simply sending out a warning. Nothing more. If you all have had good experience with Dan then I am happy for you and glad to know he's not a complete scoundril. I have never posted anything negative about anyone in my life, he pushed me far over the line. I have been trying for over a year to get him to make right was he wronged. I have a list of dozens of people who have contacted me because of the same situation, I simply reached a point where I felt others should be warned. I was cheated, without question, and am far from the only one who has been swindled, conned or lied to BLATANTLY by this man. If there are those of you out there who beleive otherwise, you are entitled to your opinion, and truth be told, I wish I was one of you, better to have good business relations with everyone than to be in my shoes...i'd much rather be defending someone than having to be the bearer of bad news...don't shoot the messanger...i just hope I don't have to say "i told you so" down the road. I appreciate everyone's opinions, as i'm sure Dan does also, but as said above, there are two sides, and Dan is, without question, both honest to some, and a complete crook to others. I don't beleive anyone can be both, you're either honest, or your not. What you think of me makes little if any difference...I simply gave warning and advise...which is free. Do with it what you will.
I too have had dealings with Dan, with great results! I know he was having some (personal) problems for awhile; but he seems to have everything under control now. And yes he is sometimes hard to get ahold of, but eventually comes through.
