turkey heads

does anyone know a way to mount turkey heads without freeze drying? ive seen foam insertes for turkey heads would it be possible to skin the head out inject the wattles borax it and mount it to a insert and dry it naturaly?

I highly reccommend Freeze Drying, I think its the most realistic, anatomically correct. Cally Morris's Hazel Creek & Harry Whitehead are the guys Id reccommend to do the Freeze Drying. You can also Freeze Dry it yourself in a frost free freezer, Your choice. I also believe there is a place for reproduction heads. But Freeze Drying is still the way to go. Borax or Dry Preserve will cause the skin to shrink to much. Whereas Freeze Drying doesnt, if its done right. Again I wouldnt trust anyone to do it other than Harry or Cally.

thanks alan never know till you ask if you know were i can get the info on freeze drying in my freezer id like to read about it just a idea i thought might work thanks agin.

This is the way we learned it in school. Don't do it! Freeze drying is the only way to go.
