Ok someone brought it up so again I need to ask.

Has there been any reports of any taxidermist, hunters, or anyone involved in birds getting this disease? Has anyone heard of any?

Is there a danger? I really havent heard much about it lately.

Have not heard of it through taxidermy contact

Few people have had it and those the vector has not been confirmed. I think dead birds, esp. the ones we shoot are pretty safe.

Mosquitos should be a larger concern

That's how I got it.

You got West nile? Do you still have it? Since you are a taxidermist how can you be sure you got it from a mosquito?

Not as such

But once you have it, research is leaning towards your body always retaining the antibodies of it. I've tested positive at my last two yearly physicals. No one can tell me if I'm now immune to it or not as there's not enough research on it. When I donate blood (I'm up to about 4 gallons since I was ineligible after taking antimalarial drugs), they give me fits and I have to produce a doctor's lab results stating that the virus in not active. Luckily I was in fair shape when I contracted it cause I sure WANTED to die. I'd like to think I'm immune but no one knows for sure.
