turkey fleshing

Is there anyway to flesh a turkey besides the wire wheel?
also I wanted to know about the tumbler. I made one but didn't have much luck drying a ram cape. How long do you need to tumble? My skin was still damp and sawdust stuck to the cape (flesh) side?
Thanks!

William, I've got some bad news

Your ram will have sawdust in it's wool after it's dry too. Most shop tumblers aren't designed for drying fur, just feathers. You'll go through LOTS of sawdust drying wool.

Your other question is yes. I use curved blade scissors, but a wire wheel is sure an advantage for final cleaning.

I have yet to do my own but I did see it done at a seminar. the pressure was around 1100 psi. It did a great job. I worked with it hands on and liked the results. Good luck

Thanks George!
I did go back and rewash the ram. I didn't like what I saw. Everything turned out fine. The ram is mounted 1/2 life form on a Chase Texas Dall. Looks like the real thing. I've got 2 more to mount.
