Dead Pheasant Eyelid

A guy I know was complaining that his dead pheasant mount has the eyes open. I don't mount birds,(just mammals) but was thinking that rebuilding an eyelid from Apoxie Sculpt would work. Can this be fixed or is he stuck with the open eyes?

most birds and animals I've seen dead have their eyes open some.
I personally wouldn't mess with it.
Good luck to you.

Correcting eyes

wet a small piece of paper towel and put it or pin it on the eye/eye lid. This will soften it up nice and readjust it.

that closing the eye lids is an act that takes muscle and dead birds dont have any control over muscles. If the eyes are closed on a dead bird its because they were closed by someone or something. if the eyes were open at the time of death they stay open naturally. They are natural that way. Eyes may close on impact with the ground after being shot, but you may see one open and one closed. People just see a dead animal like they see a person in a coffin whos eyes had to be closed by the doctor or mortition. Its really natural either way.

Thanks for the answers
