Sleeping turkey ?

Trying to find a reference photo of a turkey catching some ZZZZZZZZZZZ's on a tree limb. Do they scrunch their neck down, or place their head under a wing? Any ideas?

If they are sound asleep they turn their heads around and tuck their beaks under the scapulars on the opposite side - exactly like a duck does, so you could use the same general pose and be OK.
They also contract the muscles under their skin so that the bare skin area is as small as it can get - that way they conserve heat.

If they are just dozing in the afternoon they will pull their heads in close to their bodies and close their eyes for a while, but they are still semi-awake.

Nancy, do you have any reference photos? or know where I can find any with that pose? Thinking of doing a competition piece with that pose. Be nice to have that photo sitting by the mount. Thanks

They coil up and wait for John to come by on a horse before launching their assault ;)
